Pinocho, el Patito Feo, Caperucita Roja –sólo por mencionar tres de los innumerables ejemplos- en la literatura infantil universal. Daniel el travieso, Mafalda, el Ratón Mickey, Pluto desde el comic y la historieta. Todos ellos recibieron en su oportunidad el interés y el profesionalismo de editores, artistas plásticos, hombres de radio, cine, televisión. Cuántas ediciones publicadas a todo color como si fueran escenas en vivo y en directo; y cuántas versiones disputando la preferencia juvenil en ambientes de risa, alegría, expectativa o sorpresa.
Si Mafalda no se publicara en las páginas periodísticas, sin reparos de idioma o de costumbres, las respuestas de la pequeña y divertida “sopera” quedarían reducidas a un ostracismo improductivo. Pero no es así felizmente. La familia que acompaña a pensadores, creadores y escritores de narrativa es numerosa y dedicada a generar material de lectura y distracción en toda oportunidad.
Cuántos adultos no suspenden sus quehaceres habituales para observar un cartón televisivo de Tom y Jerry. Es la historieta captada en la niñez que acompaña al Niño sicológico de los mayores.
Con ese alcance, nosotros quisiéramos compartir la emoción de ver a los personajes de los cuentos, de la narrativa Portugal Catacora expresando vida, actuando, comunicándose. Conversando con su público infantil. Tal vez necesitarán de un cambio de atuendo según las circunstancias, o quizá un retoque de color en sus mejillas. O quien sabe sí un sistema de presentación acorde con el mensaje que todos ellos tienen para la imaginación de las niñas y de los niños.
Imaginamos títeres y marionetas, música de choq’elas, cintakanas, kapchas melgarinas, el bombo sikuri, luces y colores en sus presentaciones. Y por supuesto, el apoyo inmediato de abuelas y abuelos cuentacuentos. Personas de buena voluntad, con presupuesto de tiempo y de ánimo, dispuestas a relatar o leer los cuentos Portugal Catacora en actuaciones o círculos de narrativa permanentemente programados: hospitales, escuelas, jardines de infancia. Las abuelas y abuelos cuentacuentos, portadores de “un mundo de conocimientos”, poseen capacidad innata para el relato oral de ficción, asumiendo la tarea de modelar en la mente y espíritu juveniles, la fantasía, la imaginación.
Y no se debe descartar tampoco la posibilidad de traducir aquellos ejemplos de narrativa Cultural que duermen en la Obra Portugal Catacora. Por lo pronto se nos ocurre incluir algunos matices.
Con financiación del Gobierno de Finlandia y el auspicio de la Biblioteca Nacional del Perú, Pako Yunke cuento de César Vallejo fue publicado en traducción al Runasimi, variación qheswa (Antigua Nación Qheshwa) por niñas y niños de 6 a 14 años de edad, pertenecientes a la escuela del pueblo de Mara en Apurímak. Los dibujos que adornan la versión también pertenecen a la creatividad de aquellos estudiantes.
La narración oral de Taquile, isla milenaria del Titicaca, está reflejada en el epígrafe “Las ranas embajadoras de la lluvia”. Abuelas y abuelos cuentacuentos quechuas asumieron los relatos publicados.
Esfuerzo de instituciones de Cusco para exhibir y ofertar en Ferias de Libros de nivel nacional e internacional, literatura infantil escrita en Idioma Quechua, con disposición de dibujos y color sobresalientes. Ejemplos: Huchuypumacha y Atuqmantawan yuthumantawan aranway.
Con más de ciento veinte millones de libros vendidos alrededor del mundo, la sueca Astrid Lindgren, autora de clásicos de la literatura infantil, dejó de existir a los 94 años. Sus historias han sido traducidas a 55 idiomas. (Diario El Comercio, Lima).
Finalmente, una proyección antes que me olvide. Que la sonrisa sin límites de las niñas y los niños de la Región Puno y el Perú -por ahora- auspicie el renacimiento de los personajes quechuas y aymaras pertenecientes a la inspiración del Profesor José Portugal Catacora. Ellos, los pequeños, actuarán como auténticos embajadores del cambio conceptual que, en el mundo globalizado se exige a la Cultura Andina en su educación.
